A death registration was found for Ellen Stevens: Year of Registration: 1883; Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep; Age at Death: 34; District: Bradfield; County: Berkshire; Volume: 2c; Page: 183.

In 1887, Rose Ellen Stevens, 9 (along with brothers Arthur Stevens, 11, Walter Stevens, 6, Frank Stevens, 12, and Christopher Stevens, 7), arrived in Canada in a group of 28 Middlemore children en route to the Guthrie Home, London, Ontario, Canada.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

James and Rose Stephens Alden had at least 5 children: Mary Gertrude Alden, born July 26, 1896 in Victoria; Richard Arnold Alden, born June 7, 1899, in Victoria; Edith Doris Irene Alden, born June 17, 1901, in Victoria; Nellie Elvira Alden, born March 27, 1906, in Victoria; and Ruth Alden, born about 1910 in Victoria.
