In 1907, Charles Vernall, 8 (along with brothers, Thomas Vernall, 15, and William Vernall, 10) arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, along with 137 children from the Middlemore Home, Birmingham, England.

In 1911, Charles Vernall, 10, was shown as a domestic to Joseph and Annie Ritchie, in Wicklow, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada. His date of birth is shown as May 1901, and his immigration year as 1907.
