On 16 December 1924, Sarah Jane Large, 37, Spinster, of Lyme Brook, Pictou, Nova Scotia, born Birmingham, England, daughter of Richard Large born Birmingham, England, and Elizabeth Large, born Birmingham, England, married James William Sutherland, 41, Bachelor, of Cariboo, Pictou, Nova Scotia, born Central Cariboo, son of John Sutherland, both bride and groom could read and write, the groom was presbytarian while the bride was Church of England, the marriage took place at St Andrews Mause, Pictou, NS, witnessed by Eleanor Grant of Pictou and James Robert Sutherland, of Pictou

On April 23 1958, Sarah Jane Sutherland, aged 71 years 1 month and 23 days died at Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, she was marked as widowed, date of birth given as February 28 1887, her occupation was given as Housekeeper for 56 years until April 8 1958. Her husbands name was given as James Sutherland, her parents names as Richard and unknown Large, the informant was Florence Graham, Scottsburn, Nova Scotia, no relationship to deceased, place of burial as Cariboo Cemetery, her death was preceded by an accident in which she caught her heel on a projecting rock outside her home and fractured her right femur. She was attended by a doctor from April 12 1958-April 23 1958.
