On December 20 1923, Arthur Alderson, 11, departed for Australia, c/o The Child Emigration Society, Savoy House, The Strand.

Arthur married Matilda Irene BRIAN (known as Tilly) in Moora district of Western Australia in 1943 (registration number 11). His engagement notice in the newspaper (see NLA Trove) shows him as the "son of Mr and the late Mrs R. H. Alderson of Halifax, Yorkshire".

He died in Western Australia on 21 Nov 2004 aged 92 and is buried at Moora Cemetery. His wife Matilda died 3 Dec 2009 aged 91.
