NotesJoseph was one of eight children born to Samuel Henry Jones and Charlotte Walker. The siblings were Alice(born 1903), Elsie(born 1905), John (born 1907), James (born 1909), Samuel (born 1911), George (born 1916) and a girl-no name (born 1922). Their address from 1908 to 1922 was No. 1 The Barracks or Barricks, Stafford Street, Dudley, West Midlands, England.

Samuel Henry Jones died May 9,1918.

Joseph Jones was in the Middlemore Emigration Home, St. Luke's Road, Birmingham, England along with his brother, Samuel Jones, who was emigrated to in 1927 to Quebec, Canada.

In 1924, Joseph Jones, 9, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, along with a group of 47 Middlemore children.

Joseph Jones, was working in 1932 for a Mrs. Minnie MacKay of Bayfield, Westmoreland, New Brunswick, Canada and at that time Samuel was working nearby.

Joseph was placed mainly around Bayfield, Westmorland, New Brunswick, Canada. He received wages of $13.00 to $35.00 per month. His mother, Charlotte Jones, wrote to Middlemore during this time asking for the whereabouts of Samuel and Joseph Jones in Canada, as "she had not heard from them in nine weeks."
