Ada Hanson Aggas died at the age of 40 on August 30, 1901, at Hunslet Union Workhouse, Hunslet, West Yorkshire, England.

In 1905, John William Aggas, 10 (along with his brother, Herbert Aggas, 9), arrived at Portland, Maine, USA, in a group of 269 Barnardo boys en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

His father, John William Aggas died on July 18, 1908 in Holbeck, Leeds Yorkshire, England.

In October 1913, John William Aggas, 19, baker, entered the United States through the port of Ranier, Minnesota. On May 6, 1916, at Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, USA, a marriage was registered between John W Aggas, 21, born in England to John W Aggas and Clara Wainwright; and Gertrude Francisco, 19, born in Michigan to Frank E Francisco and Minnie Griffin.

On June 5, 1917, John William Aggas, 23, registered for the United States Draft. He declared that he resided at 352 West Elizabeth, Detroit, Michigan, USA; that his date of birth was August 12, 1894; that he was born in Yorkshire, England; that he had filed First Papers for naturalization in the US; that he was a kerosense contractor; that he was married with one child.
