He was accompanied by his brother, Leslie Ackerman, 16 [arrived on the Minnedosa in 1923]. He declared that he was born in London, England; that he was residing at R. R. #1, Sherkston, Ontario, Canada; that he intended to visit his brother William Ackerman [arrived on the Scandanavian in 1921] in Buffalo, New York for 1 day. He was described as 5 foot 9 inches in height; ruddy complexion; light brown hair; and green eyes. He arrived in Canada on September 9, 1921, on the Minnedosa.

On May 18, 1931, James David E. Ackerman, 21, returned to Canada from a visit to England. His intended residence with with his friend, Mr. H. McClean, 1250 5th Avenue West, Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada.
