FALLING CLAY KILLED HIM

Heavy Lump Crushed Wm. Broomsgrove While at His Work

A falling piece of clay struck William Broomsgrove, a young Englishman, on the head while he was at work in a clay pit in Wagstaff's brickyard Saturday afternoon, and he died two hours later. Broomsgrove boarded at 407 Danforth road. He was 22 years of age and had only been in Canada a couple of weeks.

Deceased was 22 years of age, and was formerly a Barnardo boy. His friends say he was very industrious. He was to have been married shortly and in preparation for the event had furnished a house, bought a piano, and saved up about $1,000 in cash.

The death certificate of William Broomsgrove shows his name to be Robert Broomsgrove.

On October 28, 1905, Robert Broomsgrove, 22, laborer, born in England, who resided at 407 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, died due to an accident in which his head was crushed.
