1898- A fatal shotting accident occurred at Morton Village on Saturday, the victim being a little girl names Marion Gibson. The victim who was brought to this country a few years ago by the Fairknowe Home authorities, had been residing for some time with the family of Mr. Seth Stevens and on Saturday was playing hide and seek with other children at the home of David McMakin. While hiding behind a door she knocked down a gun and when she picked it up the weapon exploded. The whole charge entered her right side, cutting an artery and causing instant death.
