Notes In 1884, Robert Langfood, 10 (along with brother, James Langfood, 12), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 65 children from the Catholic Protective Society.

Robert Longford, aged 10, from parish of Liverpool, placed with Gordon Bisnett. Should be James; went to Thomas Niban, contractor, St. Catherine's, a very desirable home, but the boy was thoroughly bad, being deceitful, untruthful, bad tempered, stubborn, filthy and dirty in bed; he remained from May till January, and then cleared out for Toronto; whilst at Nihan's he was sent to church."
