As well Ancestry.ca has the ship arriving on 14 Sept 1883 whereas LAC shows this ship arriving September 17, 1883. Hotel Dieu Orphanage records shows admittance to them on the 18th of September.

"On board the Polynesian this child is shown as James Allen age 10. Upon arrival at Hotel Dieu Orphanage he is listed as James Alton. Apparently there is a family surname Hulton searching for James "Alton" and John H. Alton."
