"Sixteenth Annual Report of the Local Government Board, 1886-87; Copy of Reports of Inspection of Children sent out to Canada, as of February 12, 1887.
Report of Mr. John Smith, Government Immigration Agent at Hamilton, Ontario.
Norah O'Neil, aged 10, from parish of Liverpool, placed with Mrs. Dunne, milk dairy, St. Catherine's, Ontario. Honest and truthful, but very stubborn. Does not attend day or Sunday school, neither is she sent to church. This is not a desirable home, and I have given instructions to have her removed, and have informed the priest and the sisters of St. Joseph's of the same."
On July 4, 1900, at St. Catherines, Lincoln, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Norah Agnes O'Neil, 24, domestic, born in Liverpool, England, to Thomas O'Neil and Agnes Osborne; and Chancey Dittrick Smith, 31, farmer, born in Louth Township, Lincoln, Ontario, Canada, to George M. Smith and Jane Stages.
