In 1881, Albert W. Argent, 5 years of age, was shown residing at 8 Barron Street, Pentonville, St. James Clerkenwell, London, England. Other family members included: Charlotte F. Argent, 2; Emily N. Family tradition states that William John Argent's father was a "Pamphlette" from England (an architect?) and his mother was an "Argent" from France. (His father took the name Argent after the marriage.)

On 12 Feb 1891, Albert Argent, 13 and brother William, 12, became officially under the control of the St Pancras Union, they were emigrated to Canada. There is a note that they were deserted on 14 March 1887. Their sister Emily was also in the care of the Union.

In 1911, Albert Argent, 29, farmer, was shown residing at Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada, along with his wife, Maria Argent, 26. His date of birth is shown as March 1881 and his immigration year from England is not shown.
