NotesWilliam was placed at Fairbridge Farm School, Molong, New South Wales, with his brother Roland and four other boys.

He travelled in a party of 15 boys and 14 girls who went to Australia under the Fairbridge Farm scheme by the liner Strathnaver. 11 of them disembarked at Fremantle to go to the farm school at Pinjarra, with the remainder travelling on to Melbourne and Sydney (Source: NLA Trove Newspaper).

Another brother, Herbert (b. 1931) came to Molong in June 1939.

William's ashes are in interred in the Columbrian Wall in Molong.
