A possible 1901 Canadian Census records place William Reynolds born 9 Jul 1878 as the Adopted Son of Sarah (Heels) and William S Wright in Lindsay, Victoria, Ontario. He states that he is born in Ontario. William is a clerk in a Dr's Office. The Wright family moves to Saskatchewan after this census.

Attestation papers were signed 7 Sep 1915 in Toronto, Ontario. William James Renolds was born in London, England on 4 Jul 1878. His Next of Kin was his brother, Frank Reynolds of 203 East 60th STreet, New York, USA. William was a Constable by occupation. He had previous military experience with the 15th Light Horse for 10 months. 5' 9 1/2" in height with blue eyes and brown hair. His religion was listed as Church of England.

Commonwealth War Graves Registers and Circumstances of Casualty states that William was Killed in Action in an attack north of Courcelette, Somme, Picardie, France. His Next of Kin was his brother, Frank Reynolds first of Golfhouse Road, Haverport, PA, USA and then of 5319 Uealcolen (Street name is unclear and does not come up as a valid address) St. West Philadelphia, PA, USA. His body was not recovered for burial, his name is listed on the Vimy Memorial in Vimy, Nord Pas de Calais, France.

Toronto Star Newspaper print from 31 Oct 1916 states that acting Sergeant W. J. Reynolds was reported Killed in Action. He'd been an American Citizen before shipping overseas with the 81st Battalion. His Next of Kin were reported to be in Pittsburg.
