NotesCaroline (Clara Caroline) came to St Catharines (Lincoln County)1872 at 8 years of age from Maria Rye's Peckham Home in London on the SS Peruvian. She was the only one of her 6 siblings to come as a HC. A brother, Charles b 1860 is found living in Manchester, Lanchaster on census where he marries and raises a family. Liverpool, Lancastershire is the port of departure. I believe he too was to come with Caroline - perhaps he was ill, ran away but for some other unknown reason remained in England. Salford is 190 miles from West Sussex.

Caroline/Carrie married (circa 1883 - not found) William Collins in Grantham Township, Lincoln County, Ontario. William came with Maria Rye at 13 years of age in 1871.
My great grandparents are buried here in St Catharines in Victoria Lawn Cemetery with their son, my grandfather George Thomas Collins and my parents Warren & Winifred Collins. I am oldest living relative and still live in St Catharines. One sister Faye Penner lives in North Bay, the other, Linda Calaguiro in Barrie, Ontario. Three cousins live in the USA

I know that Carrie corresponded with at least one sister back in England as her obituary states so, but does not give me a name. So far I have traced the Caroline's family back to 1800 and followed the lives of her brothers and sisters who remained in England.
