NotesIn 1883, Elizabeth Dawson, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 126 children en route to various destinations.

"Report of Mr. John Smith, Government Immigration Agent at Hamilton, Ontario, on girls brought out from the West Derby and State Workhouses by Miss Rye as of December 18, 1884.

Eliza Dawson, 11. Robert Garbutt, farmer. Beamsville. A very good girl. Goes to Sunday school and church, Protestant.

This is a very good home and the child has been adopted by the family.

Elisabeth Dawson, aged 12, from parish of Stoke-upon-Trent, placed with Robt. Garhelt, farmer, Beamsville, Ontario. This child has been adopted and has a good home. She has been educated and now goes to church and Sunday school. She is highly spoken of and is beloved in the home of her adoption."

On April 18, 1894, at Beamsville, Lincoln, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Eliza Annie Dawson, 22, born in England to William and Elizabeth Dawson; and George Breadman, 22, farmer, born in England to Robert and Mary Breadman. Witnesses were George and Elizabeth Garbutt.

George and Eliza Dawson Breadman had at least 4 children: Mary Elizabeth Breadman, born August 2, 1895, at Lincoln, Ontario, Canada; and Clara Louisa Breadman, born March 11, 1902, at Lincoln, Ontario, Canada; Edith Roberts Breadman, born February 8, 1905, at Lincoln, Ontario, Canada; and George Arthur Breadman, born August 5, 1907, at Lincoln, Ontario, Canada.

On February 8, 1919, Eliza Breadman, 46, crossed into the United States through the port of Niagara Falls, New York, United States. She declared that she was born in Staffordshire, England; that she was a housewife; that she resided with her husband in Beamsville, Ontario, Canada; that she was going to visit her daughter, Mary Burse, who resided in Ranascraga, New York; that she carried $11 on her person. She was described as 5 foot 1 inch in height; medium complexion; gray hair; blue eyes. She arrived in Halifax, Canada on an unknown ship in 1886.
