In 1901, Mabel Waltham, 28, widow, Hotel House Chambermaid, in Devonshire House Hotel, St Botolph Without Bishopsgate, London

In 1901, George Waltham, 4, and his brother, Leonard Waltham, 2, were boarding in the home of William Jenner, 40, carman, and his wife, Eliza Jenner, 43, at 31 Western Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England. Another child, Elsie Sargeant, 5, was boarding with the two boys. All three were noted as being from Dr. Barnardos Home.

In 1909, Leonard Waltham, 10 (along with his brother, George Waltham, 11), arrived in Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 161 children en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

(EDITORS NOTE: This is a possible identification for the 1911 Canadian census, not absolute) Leonard Wallace, 11, is shown as a boarder with Irwin and Jewel Bagshaw in Ontario South, Ontario, Canada. His date of birth is shown as November 1899, and his immigration year as 1910.

On March 23, 1916, Leonard Waltham enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that his current residence was Bethany; that he was born in London, England; that his next of kin was his brother, George Waltham, who resided at South Cayuga, Ontario, Canada; that his date of birth was March 15 1898; that he was a farm labourer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 3 inches in height; fair complexion; brown eyes; and black hair. He was a member of the Church of England.

On December 2, 1918, Leonard Waltham, 18, entered the United States through Buffalo, New York. He declared on his landing card that he was born in London, England; that he was single; that he was a discharged soldier; that his last permanent address was Toronto, Canada; that he intended to remain in the United States for an indefinite period of time; that he was going to New York City to visit O. L. Cushman, who resided at 411-413 4th Avenue; that he was 5 foot 3 inches; fair complexion; brown hair and eyes; and that he immigrated to Canada in May, 1909, through Montreal.

This is my grandfather. I have some info. He married Pearl Edna Hale (I do not know the date). They had one son, Leonard William Hale Waltham, who married Eileen Mae Guthrie (of Whitby Ont) on Oct 10, 1964. The had 3 kids. 1) Leonard Herbert Guthrie Waltham, Deborah Mary Waltham, and myself David George William Waltham
