NotesA birth registration was found for Isabella Black [noted as Illegitimate]: Date: June 18, 1898, 7:00 p.m., at Wood Lane, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. Parents: Malcolm Black, Quay Labourer, and Isabella Walker, Domestic Servant.

In 1907, Isa[bella] Black, 6 (along with sisters, Atkin Black, 11, and Agnes Black 16), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 78 Quarrier children accompanied by Mr. Simpson and en route Brockville, Ontario, Canada.

On December 15, 1919, at Gananoque, Leeds, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Isabella Black, 19, born in Scotland to parents whose full names she did not know, so her foster parents, Richard Hutchison and Alice Hunter, stood in; and James Abram Sword, 20, labourer, born in Verona, Portland[?], to Abram Sword and Anna Hamilton.
