NotesA birth registration was found for Ann Abbis: Year of Registration: 1877; Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep; District: Stoke Upon Trent; County: Staffordshire; Volume: 6b; Page: 268.

In 1890, Annie Abbis, 11 (along with her sister Matilda Abbis, 9) arrived at Quebec, Canada, with a group of 94 children en route to Niagara, Ontario, Canada, accompanied by Miss Rye, Mrs. Soffe and four others.

On May 14, 1896, a marriage was recorded between Anne Abbis and Charles Thomas in Arthur, Wellington, Ontario, Canada. Anne stated she was 20 years of age; that she had been born in England; that she was residing in West Luther; that her parents names were George and Elizabeth Abbis. Charles stated he was 33 years of age; from England; a farmer and resided in West Luther. His parents names were Joshua and Jane Thomas.

Charles and Ann Abbis Thomas had at least two children: Charles Thomas (Born: 1863); and Nora Matilda Thomas (Born: 1903).

A death record was found for Annie Abbis Thomas on December 2, 1934, in the District of Timiskaming, Ontario, Canada. Informant was the husband, Charles Thomas. He stated her birthdate was May 13, 1874; that she was born in England; that she was a housewife; that her parents names were George Freeman Abbis and Elizabeth Smith. Her death was caused by chronic endocarditis and myocarditis, contributed by acute endocarditis. (It may be caused by syphilis, alcoholism, gout, and prolonged over-exertion. The edges of the valve become thickened and then the thickened parts separate and cannot meet exactly and therefore fail to close the opening they are set to guard.)
