NotesHannah Michael Abrams died in childbirth with Mary Ann. Family stories tell that her father had to put her in a orphanage for care while he worked.

In 1912 Mary Ann was residing at 22 Grafton Street, Chorlton on Medlock, Lancashire, England, in a Girls Lodging Home.

In 1913, Mary A. Abram, 15, arrived at Quebec, Canada with 18 children from the Refuge Home Cheetham Hill, Manchester, Lancashire, England, accompanied by Rosa F. Pickford and en route to the Marchmont Home, Belleville, Ontario, Canada.

On November 20, 1918, at Russell, Prince Edward, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Mary Ann Abrams, 20, born in Scotland, to Albert Abrams and Hannah Michael; and Tom Bellwood [born February 12, 1889, in Borrowby, Yorkshire, England], 29, farmer, born in England to G W Bellwood and Jane Watson [George Wilson Bellwood and Jane Ellen Watson].

Thomas and Mary Ann Abram Bellwood had at least 2 children: Ethel Bellwood, born about 1920; and George Bellwood, born about 1922.

On December 3, 1927, Thomas, 39 (farmer), Mary, 29, Ethel, 8, and George Bellwood, 6, arrived on the ship Melita at Liverpool, Lancashire, England. They declared that they would be staying at Borrowley, Thirsk, Yorkshire, England.

On March 5, 1928, Thomas Bellwood, farmer, and Mary Abram Bellwood, returned from England with their 2 children on the Metagama. Mary Bellwood declared that she had lived in Canada between the years 1913-1927. The Bellwoods declared that they were residing in Picton, Ontario, Canada. Thomas Bellwood's passport number was 28774 (Canada, issued November 1927).
