In 1906, Harry Adie, 9 (along with sister, Mary Adie, 11) arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 159 Middlemore children.

He was adopted by William and Christy (MacMillan) MacLeod of Plaister Mines, Victoria County, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Henry Adie married Charlotte Boland, born December 5, 1892, in Pounds Cove, Greens Pond, Newfoundland, Canada, to Thomas Boland and Mary Ann Hounsel. They had at least 4 children: William Adie, born about 1920; Mary Adie, born about 1921; John (also known as Jack or Jackie) Adie, born 1922 (died 1997); and Harry Gordon Adie, born June 10, 1928 (died 1998).

In May, 1924, Harry Adie, 27, carpenter, entered the United States through the port of Lewiston, New York. He declared that his contact in Canada was his wife, Charlotte Adie, who resided at 1158 Delaware Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; that his final destination was to visit his friend, Chas Millman, who resided at 111 Weil Avenue, Buffalo, New York; that he intended to remain indefinitely. He was described as 5 foot 6 inches in height; fair complexion; brown hair; grey eyes. He was born in Birmingham, England.

He declared that he resided at Graterford, Mont., Pennsylvania; that he was 45; that he had no telephone; that he was born in Birmingham, England; that his next of kin was his wife, Charlotte Adie; that he was employed by Irwin and Leighton, at Pitcairn Airport, Horhsam, Montgomery, Pennsylvania.

Charlotte Boland Adie died in August 1965 in Norristown, Montgomery, Pensylvania, USA. Henry Adie died November 18, 1985 in Barto, Berks, Pennsylvania, USA.
