On October 19, 1876, at Willoughby, Welland, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Alice Alston, 16, born in England to John and Christina Alston; and Jacob Wotley, born in Germany to George and Barbara Wotley. Witnesses were Levi and Gertrude Gonder.
Jacob and Alice Alston Wotley had at least 8 children (the last name was spelled in various ways on their birth registrations): Minnie Albertina Marguerite Whitley, born September 11, 1892; Catharine May Wotley, born September 19, 1876; John Henry Wittle, born April 29, 1890; Albert Peter Washington Wodle, born February 22, 1895; and Charles Wodley, born November 24, 1880; Ellen Agnes Wottle, born April 5, 1878; Alice Christina Wottle, born December 14, 1887;and Albert Peter Washington Wottle, born February 22, 1895.
Jacob Wotley, 72, (his name spelled as Woodle in his death registration), died August 8, 1911, of chronic Brights' Disease, from which he had suffered 15 years.
