She declared that her object in going to Canada was to be a domestic servant; that she intended to remain permanently in Canada; that her final destination was c/o Mrs. Hobday, 538 Jarvis Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and that her next of kin was her mother, Mrs. Ashford, who resided at 20, Chambers Street, Hunsted, Leeds, Yorkshire, England.
On January 2, 1928, at Baptist Parsonage, Harrow, Essex, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Allyce Ashford, 19, born in England to George Ashford and Francis Carter; and Wilbert Lewis Brunner [Bruner], 20, farmer, born in Kingsville, Ontario, Canada, to John Stafford Brunner and Caroline Bailey.
Alice Ashford reported in the January 1933 edition of Ups and Downs that she was now Mrs W Bruner, has three daughters, just had new baby no name yet, sisters are Betty and Helen.
At least six children were born of this marriage.
Wilbert Lewis Bruner died February 8, 1996. Alice Ashford Bruner died on January 2, 2001, at Leamington, Mersea Township, Essex, Ontario. She is buried at Greenhill Cemetary, Kingsville, Ontario, Canada.
