Lily was placed at at Fairbridge Farm School, Pinjarra, Western Australia from 23 May 1928. She was one of 160 children who came to Australia aboard ‘Ballarat’ in 1928. 115 went to Fairbridge WA, the remainder on to Sydney.

She was the sister of Henrietta ASHURST; they arrived together.

Lily married in Katanning district of Western Australia as 'Lily ASHURST (HARRINGTON)' in 1939, registration 24, to Stanley Thomas Henry COLLARD. Lily died 5 Nov 1997 aged 80. Her husband Stanley died 2 June 2004 aged 85.
