He declared that his date of birth was December 22, 1896; that he resided at RR #1, Oakwood, Ontario, Canada; that he was born in Portsmouth, England; that he was not married; and that his next of kin was his sister, Miss Nellie Aylwin, who resided at the Ritz Carleton Hotel, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He was described as 5 foot 5-1/4 inches in height; dark complexion; blue eyes; black hair.
On December 2, 1919, at Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Ernest Edward Aylwin, 22, laborer, born in Portsmouth, England, to Arthur Edward Aylwin and Harriet Ayling; and another home child, Emma Celia Pender, 22, housework, born in England to Joseph Robertson and Catharine Duiner.
