In 1902, Horace Baggott, 7, arrived at Portland, Maine, USA, in a group of 8 Barnardo boys from from Mittendorff House, Epsom, Surrey, England, and en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
On July 20, 1915, at Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, Horace Edgar Baggot, 20, enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he was born in Birmingham, England; that his next of kin was his mother, Mrs. Harriet Baggot, who resided at PO Stenton, Manitoba; that his date of birth was July 21, 1895; that he was a farmer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 10-1/2 inches in height; fair complexion; blue eyes; light or fair hair. He was a member of the Presbyterian faith. He had a mole one inch below left ear; and a cut 3 inches long between his knee and thigh.
On February 8, 1916, at Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, a marriage was registered between Horace Edgar Baggott and Hilda Lindberg.
On November 2, 1916, at Souchez, France, Private Horace Edgar Baggott, who was attached to the 182n Tunnelling Company, was out with a working party when he was shot through the groin and instantly killed.
