with John Rowan, farmer, P.O Douglas, Renfrew, Ontario

June 29 1900

Age does not know, about 14 years he thinks, home plain but comfortable, employed at house work principally, very good health, attends Roman Catholic Church, does not go to school, character generally good, terms-Board and Clothing. Barry is a bright, but not a robust looking lad. He states he is not altogether satisfied here as he finds it a little lonely, and does not get along with Mr Rowan's father, an elderly person. He gets along agreeably with the rest of the family, and his master treats him well. He is well supplied with clothing. The Rowan's are well pleased with the lad.
