On November 4, 1910, John Barwell, 21, farmer, returned to the United Kingdom on the ship Empress of Britain. He traveled with his friend, Sydney Prodgers, 22, farmer, another Barnardo boy, whom John met while Sidney was placed with a family down the road from John's placement family, the Dash's.
On March 28, 1911, Sidney Prodgers and John Barwell returned to the United Kingdom on the ship Royal George. Their destination was Windthust, Saskatchewan, Canada.
