Notes In 1887, Mary Begwood, 6, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 129 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Mary Begwood, aged 7. From West Derby Union. Placed with Rev. Father Forster, New Germany, Waterloo Co. and Waterloo Tp.?Stubborn at times, but improving, otherwise giving satisfaction, attends school, is in 2nd part of 1st reader.

Mary Bagwood, aged 7. From West Derby Union. Placed with Rev. Father Foster, New Germany P.O.?Clean, healthy looking child, and looks some years older than the age given. She helps the domestics in the house, and attends school between times. Was difficult to manage at first, but is well liked now. In an excellent home."
