Notes In 1836, Mark Bendall arrived in New Brunswick, Canada, along with other children from the Children's Friend Society.
Mark and his brother Henry were apprenticed to a carpenter named Foss(Forss?)
He was a nephew of a milk-woman, Mrs. Taylor. Mrs. Taylor received a letter dated December 5, 1836 from Stanley, New Brunswick, Canada: They arrived on June 4, they said, "we are happy, we are not exactly settled yet, for our master's house is not finished, but we are to be apprenticed to a carpenter, Mr. Foss. Give our love to Capt. Thickness, tell him we thank him for sending us to this fine country, where there is plenty to do if people will work."
