Notes In 1887, Michael Birt, 8, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 96 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Michael Birt, aged 8. From West Derby Union. Placed with Dennis R. Callaghan, Lot 36 in 5th Con., Tyendinaga Tp., Lonsdale P.O.?Giving full satisfaction, pleased with his home and treatment, not attending school, will do so during winter."
