NotesPeter, aged 11, travelled aboard S.S. Corsican and landed in Quebec City. Peter's brother, William Boyle, sailed on the same ship.

Peter died in a tragic accident during the construction of the Welland canal. The research in the newspaper article has been done by the Welland Canal Fallen Workers Memorial committee; the article can be found online.

There is now a gravemarker in place for Peter, thanks to the generous donation of Kirkpatrick Monuments in Fonthill, Ontario.
