NotesChristopher James Bradley sailed with his two brothers on the SS Carthaginian in June 1915. His mother had died and his father could not manage to work and look after all of the children, there were 8children born between 1901 and 1913. Ida Lily was the eldest child and the only daughter so she had to help her father. John Harry, the eldest son and Arthur Robert the fourth son went with Christopher James. Christopher married a girl from Scotland and after having two children they returned to Birmingham, England, where Christopher met up with his father again. John Harry moved across the frontier to Maine, USA, where he worked on a potato farm. He met and married the owners daughter and lived in the area until he died. No members of the family were aware of what the boys had gone through, Christopher told his family that he had been born in Canada.
