NotesIn 1885, John Brassil, 15, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 43 Roman Catholic children accompanied by Cardinal Manning and en route to Rimouski, Quebec, Ottawa and Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

"Sixteenth Annual Report of the Local Government Board, 1886-87; Copy of Reports of Inspection of Children sent out to Canada, as of February 12, 1887.

Report of Mr. R. Doyle, Assistant Immigration Agent at Quebec.

John Brassil, aged 15, from Greenwich Union, placed with Joseph Albert, fils, St. Elvie, Temisconata County. Traced him from various parishes to James Mulling, farmer, Metcalfe, Russell Co., Ontario; good place, #4 per month, Iward, clothing, &c, good health, well clad, works on farm."

John Brassil, 25, fireman, returned to the United Kingdom on the ship Gallia on August 24, 1896.
