On 12 July 1918, Charles James Brixey born August 17th 1898 Portsmouth was drafted into the Canadian Army, he declared his next of kin as mother-Mrs Emily Lovell, 57 Neply Grove, Portsmouth, England, he was a farmer residing in Vulcan, Alberta, Canada

On 24 August 1919, Sapper Charles James Brixey arrived back in Canada in a Military party on board SS Saxonia, he declared his next of kin was his mother, his residence was Vulcan. He was a Methodist.
