Notes In 1923, Walter Ernest Bryenton, 13, arrived in Quebec, Canada, with a group of 149 boys to Toronto and 70 girls to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
Walter was placed on the farm of William Hanselman, Lynedoch, Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. On January 20, 1928, Walter, then 17, died at Norfolk General Hospital as a result of injuries inflicted when he fell from a load of wood. Though no one witnessed the accident, the condition of the load when the victim was found indicated that the heavy box had shifted forward, throwing Walter under a runaway team of horses. He was trampled upon and sustained internal injuries due to the chest and lower body.
His death was registered by John Kidner, of the Barnardo Home in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Walter Ernest Bryenton was buried in Delhi, Ontario, Canada, on January 21, 1928.
