In 1895, Jane Buddle, 8, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 298 Barnardo children accompanied by Mr. Owen and en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

On February 26, 1898, at Hazelbrae House, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, Janie Buddle, 11 years of age, died of phthisis (tuberculosis), 1 year duration. Janie Buddle is buried at Little Lake Cemetery, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, along with 46 other Barnardo children who were a part of Hazlebrae House.
