Notes In 1887, James Canty, 11, arrived in Canada in a group of 28 Middlemore children accompanied by Mr. John T. Middlemore and en route to the Guthrie Home, London, Ontario, Canada.

James Canty, aged 11. From parish of St. George-in-the-East. Placed with James W. Jewson, Stone Quarry P.O., Tp. Bertie, Welland, Ontario.?Removed to James Crosseley, Tp. Bosanquet, Jura P.O. Stubborn, truthful, honest, troubled with urinal discharges. Goes to church, Sunday and day school. A good home. Kindly treated. Not permanently located."
