Notes Robert was the fourth son of Henry Callas Cheesbrough and Emily Scarfe , who both died in early 1919 , their children , all boys were taken into the care of Barnado's, John the third son died in infancy, all the remaining boys , Henry, Thomas, Robert and Frederick ,went into the care of Barnado's. All the family were born in Sunderland, County Durham, England.
We have found that Henry was sent to Canada in 1923 , my Father Fred, always beleived that Robert also went to Canada , we do not know if this is true or not but he beleived that Robert became a 'Mountie'.
Robert was born in 1912 and he and my father were together for a few years , being only very young , but then Robert was sent away and no one ever told my father where his brothers had gone.
My father tried for many years to find his 'lost' family but every lead was a dead end and he felt he had lost them over again , so he stopped activly searching BUT his lost brothers were always on his mind , we his family are trying to find his lost family in his memory.
The spelling of our surname constantly changes but the more usual spelling is Cheesbrough or Cheesebrough or Cheeseborough.
