NotesIn 1885, Alice Cleary, 10, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 136 children from the Catholic Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Richard Yates with a probable destination to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

On September 12, 1909, Alice Cleary, 25, servant, born in Belleville, Ontario, Canada, entered the United States throgh the port of St. Albans, Vermont. He declared that her contact in Canada was her cousin, Michael Walsh, who resided in Belleville, Ontario, Canada [NOTE: Michael Walsh was Alice Cleary's placement as shown in the 1891 census of Canada]; that her final destination was Rochester, New York; that she had $25 on her person; and that she intended to visit David King, who resided at 30 Orchard Street, Rochester, New York. She was described as 5 foot 3 inches in height; light complexion; blue eyes; brown hair.
