On 10 August 1918, Private C E Clee was killed in action in France, he was buried in Eterpigny British Cemetery. He was struck by a hand grenade and killed instantly.

His burial report was sent on 3 December 1921 to Miss V E Whitenect, Box 926 St John, NB
