Notes My grandfather died in 1955. I have no real proof that he was a British Home Child. A family relation told me that he had mentioned being a 'Home Boy'. Throughout his WW1 service records, his age and place of birth change. He lists Faversham & Deal, Kent as well as District of Wandsworth anytime between 1874 and 1881. He is not listed in the British Home Child archives and Barnardos have no record of him being in their care. On his marriage certificate, he lists his father as William G. Moat Clifton and his mother's maiden name as Annie Wright.
