On November 8th 1915, Alfred Saml Cluderay born March 18 1886 Leeds, England enlisted in the Canadian Army, he declared his next of kin as sister-Mary Cluderay, 3673 Olive, St Louis, MO, USA, and that he lived at 158 Simcoe St, Toronto

he had previously enlisted on December 20 1914 but was discharged after 1 year due to misconduct

On April 23 1919, he re-enlisted, he had been discharged before due to a gun shot wound in the leg

On September 13 1919, Alfred Saml Cluderay, 32, 'Telephone Leverman' born Leeds, England, son of Alfred Saml and Margaret Cluderay, married Gertrude Altman Clark, 28, born Galt, Ontario, in Toronto, York, Ontario

His sister Mary was a nurse at hospital in St Louis Ward 26, St Louis City, Missouri, USA at the time of the 1910 census, she had immigrated in 1905. She died aged 69 in 1954 as a spinster at City Hospital, cause given as Ruptured Heart
