NotesSamuel Courts was born in 1911, his birth was registered in the October Qtr of that year. Parents: Samuel Courts and Ethel Maude Arthur married 1909 in Oundle, Northamptonshire, England.

On October 3 1920, Samuel Courts, 8, arrived in Canada on SS Scandinavian, his birthplace was given as Lincolnshire. His object in coming to Canada was to do farming. His passage was paid by Dr Barnardos Homes. His destination was Mr J W Hobday, 50-52 Peter St, Toronto. His next of kin was his Grandmother-Mrs Morley, lodge keeper, Horsepool Lodge, ??mington, Peterborough

In 1921, Samuel Courts, 9, was found residing as a ward of Tom and Mary Lakeman in Aspdin, Stisted, Muskoka, Ontario, along with another Barnardo boy Matthew Sharp who also arrived in 1920.
