with George W Welling, farmer, P.O Shediac, Westmoreland, NB

Age 15, good home, employed at farm work, good health, no sickness since arrival, attends Church of England, does not attend school, character-obedient and trustworthy. Terms-Board, Lodging and Clothes. Frederick Curtis is a bright and intelligent looking lad, he is not, however, giving Mr Welling satisfaction. He is impudent, and Mrs Welling cannot get along with him. They may not keep him after this winter. Mr Welling thinks that he will be quite an industrious boy. Curtis says he likes living here; likes his work, but says that some of it is too hard

with George W Cleveland, Norton, Kings, NB

August 5 1902

Age 15, this boy has certainly improved and I received a much more satisfactory account of him. He is not overworked and his situation appears to fit him well. His general health has been good, but they think he is troubled with kidney complaint, they have been doctoring him for this. He seems to be better at times and is less troubled in summer. I instructed them to take him to a physician for treatment
