NotesWalter Henry's father died in March of 1895. Three months later Walter Henry's mother agreed to admit him to Barnardo's School for Boys. He was 9 years old. 15 months later he was sent to Canada on the ship Labrador together with a large group of Boys. Walter Henry's mother Mary Ann Minter Dance died (Nov/1897) one month after he arrived in Canada. His siblings all remained in England.
