In 1887, Moses Doyle, 12, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 96 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

Report of Mr. R. Mcpherson, Government Immigration Agent at Kingston.

Moses Doyle, aged 9. From West Derby Union. Was with Hon. M. Sullivan, corner King and Princess Streets, Kingston.?Remained with Hon. M. Sullivan three weeks, then transferred to Serjeant-Major John Morgans, Royal Military College; giving full satisfaction and in good home.?18 August 1887."

On July 30, 1915, at Vernon, British Columbia, Canada, Moses Doyle, 40, enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he had been born in County Kildare, Ireland; that his next of kin was his wife, Mrs. Margaret Doyle, who resided at Bethune Av., Maywood PO, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; that his date of birth was May 21, 1875; that he was a janitor; and that he had previously served in the RGA for 12 years and the RCG for 4 years. He was described as 5 foot 8 inches in height; fair complexion; blue eyes; brown hair. He was a mamber of the Roman Catholic faith. He had 2 vaccination scars and one scar over his left shin.

Moses Doyle died at the age of 83 on May 10, 1958, at Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. [Registration 1958-09-005670]
