NotesDonald was one of 31 children aged between 4 and 13 arriving from London to Fremantle, bound for Fairbridge Farm School, Pinjarra, Western Australia. He was 11 years old.

His brother Beresford Douglas arrived aboard Oronsay in 1932 and another brother Basil arrived aboard Otranto in 1933.
