In 1888, Sandie Duncan, 3, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 11 males and 13 females to Halifax, Nova Scotia, plus one female age 25 to Strathroy, Ontario, Canada, from Miss Stirling, the Edinburgh and Leith Children's Aid and Refuge, to Hillfoot Farm, Aylesford, Nova Scotia.

Alexander Duncan was named in the Last Will of Emma Stirling as a legatee of her estate. It is shown in court documents that Alexander died in 1910 unmarried and without issue.
